Ernesto Peña Pou

Ernesto Peña Pou is a graduate of the Superior Institute of Art in Cuba and holds a Master of Fine Arts. Of a very sensible nature, Peña creates refined abstract expressionist pieces with clear intention and purpose. During our conversations with him, it is hard to narrow down his art with words beside the traditional clarification of abstract expressionism. 

His palette is massive, as shown by the numerous range that is expressed within all of his pieces. From vibrant reds and dark maroons to pale yellows his abstract works are a plethora of colors combined into a pleasing image to the eye. As he himself puts it, "I do not give interpretations to my art, you wouldn't go to a museum and ask a dead artist for what he meant behind the motifs of their painting. It is the viewers duty to co-create with me through the fantasy that is our canvas".
