Cuba has long been a standing destination for Canadians as a vacation spot, yet so many tourists never stray off the beaten path. Exposed to cigars and old cars the authentic Cuba experience is lost and our culture is slowly eroded to nothing more than a nostalgic era of a different time.
The reality of the daily lives of Cubans is different from this sanitized view. Each creator we have chosen to display is actively living in Cuba and close to the roots of the country, giving us an authentic view that goes beyond stereotypes. A mixture of figurative and abstract works forms our gallery, and behind each canvas is a story of resilience and perseverance. We encourage you to engage with our staff and ask for the story of each artist to delve deeper into their creative journeys.
